The Battles We Face
The greatest battles, in the
greatest war, is the terrestrial battles that occur in the mind. War, because
as long as you are clothed in frail mortality, you will never escape the war,
but you will have to stand for many battles till you die. I have read, pity not
the dead, pity the living. Life raging, poverty screaming and death lurking.
The greatest battles are still won in the mind to overcome any obstacle. What
am I on about, just like your servant job, I made a covenant with my eyes! Why
therefore, should I think upon a maid? It is not that I am inadequate, but
powerful beyond measure. He will have it, that I perish and when he can’t have
that, he will have me in torments. Day and night, never resting! My battles,
becoming greater the more I gain in knowledge and understanding. I never knew
sin, till the law came, therefore sin became alive and I died. How I want to be
rich, but fear the depths of covetousness and greed. How I love food, but
glutton with every mouthful. How I hate pride, but I am the haughtier. How I
break my covenant with little indulgent looks. How I hate murder, but hate my
brother. How I love my parents, but do not honor them always. Fools gold within
me, I surrender and acknowledge defeat to a perfect law. How I love love! But
bear no fruits, therefore, I am the deceived fool. I am a decent lad, saved by
grace through faith. On bended knees, I accept the terms and conditions of my
service. A soldier in war and at the forefront of the greatest victory. The
greatest victory if I faint not. What if I live to be 75, then I’ll pray, “Please
Lord, not another day”. Oh wow, the battles we face as Christians, is worth the
note.
On a high not, the battles we
face is because of the victory we will gain. Understand and comprehend the full
picture. The full picture of the glory that awaits those who are victorious. We
are in war, but you stand alone. Work out your salvation with fear and
trembling. The battles we face have been won before. God breathed scriptures
telling no lies, therefore, buffet your body and put on the coat of courage.
Pace yourself with endurance and let Him assert divine direction in your every
step. Insurmountable, but not impossible. Be patient, he is always in control!
Cast your cares and worries on him, fear not! Spend time in the living word and
soak your conscience with the sword of the Spirit. Wield it and thrust it, with
your mind set on victory. Don’t be distracted nor deceived by what you see; the
battle ground is invisible and the war celestial. The battles we face will cost
you blood, sweat and tears. You will have lonely nights of indifference and
insecurities. You will question your maker and your commander will test your
loyalty. Nothing is of limits in the battles we face. When you’re down, the
enemy will kick you and take everything you have. The battles we face make life
worth living. You have to be territorial and seek advantage in every area of
radical strongholds and corrupting legalism. Stand tall in the midst of
bloodshed and to wit stumbling blocks meant for your downfall. Do not be double
minded and seated on the bridge of naivety, choose your side with your mind
made up. The battles we win today are the weapons we wield tomorrow. In every
victory, be humble and praise with gratitude in your heart to the righteous
one. Be steadfast and watchful always, in the engineered war meant to kill your
joy and subdue your strength. Forget your short comings, because you are
fearfully and wonderfully made. Do not focus on ‘I’, but on the chief shepherd
who is the commander of heavens armies and the slayer of death. Be as cunning
as a serpent, but as harmless as a dove. Let love lead, because it is patient,
long suffering and overcomes it all. Apply wisdom to your fleeting life and
seek mercy and justice for the suckling babes who are none the wiser. You are
not an island and find strength in unity for solidarity in the battles we face.
Contend for the peace that surpasses all human understanding and live off the
metaphors that are meant to ensnare the peeled eyes of those who presume to
have sight. Count it all joy in the battles you face, because truth is found in
standing for an everlasting purpose. A divine calling that shouldn’t be traded
for perishable silver or gold. The battles we face, is to save your life and
usher you into the eternal Kingdom of Glory.
